FAQ
What does Cortado. mean? Where does the name come from?
Traditionally, a cortado is a 4oz coffee made with 2oz of espresso and 2oz of steamed milk. Known for it's balance, warmth, and as a favorite beverage of Jasmine's, the cortado influenced the essence of the brand and even the size of the first set of vessels made available for purchase.
What ingredients do you use in your candles?
Our candles and wax melts are made with all-natural, 100% soy wax and are free from harsh fragrance additives, paraffin and dyes. We strive to source the cleanest fragrance oils that also happen to be eco friendly, vegan and cruelty free. Our wooden wicks are biodegradable and sustainably sourced and our natural cotton wicks are lead-free for a non toxic candle burning experience.
How long do your candles last?
Our 4oz cortado candles last about 24 hours when burned under a flame and our 11oz latte candles can burn up to 80 hours. Personally and practically, this averages 3-6 days for a 4oz cortado and 7-10 days for an 11oz latte candle.
If you use a candle warmer, the scents seemingly last forever with the most fragrant burns matching the above timelines - a 4oz cortado candle warms most fragrantly the first 24 hours of melting and the 11oz latte candle warms most fragrantly the first 80 hours
How long does it take you to make a candle?
From empty vessel to packaged gift takes about 3 hours!
It takes our wax about thirty minutes to melt during which time we prepare the jar with its accoutrements and measure our fragrances for the pour. About twenty-five minutes later we have a wild wax infusion ready to pour and set. After the half hour cooling period, we inspect and perfect each vessel for another forty minutes or so to ensure cleanliness and top quality. Spend about forty-five minutes adding the final touches and securing the vessel in a Flush box to prevent breakage during transport and after 170 minutes , you have a Cortado. Candle!
